Fort Youth Baseball Spring program is a coed baseball league based in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin that is affiliated with Little League Baseball International. Fort Youth Baseball offers five divisions, 1st-2nd grade (AAA/Machine Pitch), 3rd-4th grade (Minor), 5-6th grade (Major), and 7th-8th grade (Junior/Pony) and 9th-10th grade (Senior/Brooks). The Senior/Brooks division does allow 11th &12th grade players. The Spring season for the 1st-2nd grade division will consist of 10-12 games, and the Spring season for all other divisions will consist of 15-18 games. Games are primarily played at Memorial Park in Fort Atkinson on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.

 

When considering which division to place your player, use their current year in school as the starting point. Some players will get two division options, please select the younger of the two options for your player. If you would like your player considered for an older aged division, we can use the evaluation nights to determine the appropriate level for your child to play and make any adjustments at that time. We strongly recommend all current 2nd graders sign up for the AAA/Machine Pitch program unless they have 2+ years of baseball experience. If there is interest for a 2nd grade player to participate in the Minors (3rd & 4th grade); an evaluation will be made by a committee of coaches prior to placement in that older division. If your player is older for their grade, sign them up in the division offered and then send an email to [email protected]. We look to keep players of the same grades together and will transfer your player to the appropriate grade division. As we move into Little League tournament team placement (at the end of the season), the age (not grade) will be the determining factor on team placement.

 

New for this year: Players in grades 7, 8 & 9 will be placed on Fort based Junior/Pony teams and then play games in the Jefferson County League. There is also an option for a high school team (Senior/Brooks) for 9th-12th grade in the Jefferson County League. The goal is to get the older players more exposure to travel and a wider pool of competition. The communities currently slated for our division in this league include Lake Mills, Lake Mills Prep, Johnson Creek, Palmyra & Farmington. There is a year-end tournament for this league which will include the teams in our division and additional teams from the East division. Some games will be held in nearby communities and may occur on Thursday nights. Senior/Brooks teams will play at the high school. The cost to play in the Spring Leagues is $85 for the AAA/Machine Pitch division and $115 for all other divisions. The actual cost to Fort Youth Baseball for each player is close to $200. We are very fortunate to have generous sponsors to help offset the overall cost of the program.

 

Current 7th & 8th grade players can sign-up to play "Teener" ball, which is designed to prepare players for high school diamonds, rules & umpires. Playing in Teeners is in addition to playing on a Fort based team in the Jefferson County League; there will be 1-2 additional games per week (for a total of 3-4 games per week) when the schedules of both the Junior/Pony league team and the Teener team are taken into account. Teeners play on high school fields; the intent is to play home games on the Fort High School fields with away games at high school fields, primarily East of Madison. The cost to play in Teeners is $150, which includes the $115 cost to play on a Fort based team in the Jefferson County League. Teeners is designed as a "no-cut" team; anyone who is thinking of playing baseball in high school should play Teeners
